The MAP assessment is a benchmark test that the freshmen math students take biannually at Horizon High School. They take the test once in the Fall at the very beginning of the school year when they have had very little instruction from the teacher and then again in the Winter after a semester of instruction. The test is well aligned to PARCC and is meant to give an idea on how students may perform in the Spring on the PARCC state assessment as well as how they have progressed throughout the year. The evidence that I submit will be a four quadrant graph from the assessment website that shows where students fall on the spectrums of both achievement and growth. The evidence will show that the majority of my students fall in the high growth category.
How does this address the standard?
Element A:Although this data is similar in nature and presentation to the data I am submitting as my first piece of evidence, I am including this data because it demonstrates my ability to translate effective teaching from one school to another and one demographic of students to another. While my first piece of evidence, the Galileo assessments from Fort Lupton Middle School, shows that I positively impacted one group of students, the data I submit with this evidence will demonstrate my proficiency in this element of the standard because it illustrates that I have also had a positive impact on student learning, growth, and achievement during my short time atHorizon High School.
